Hike for the Tatas, a Breast Cancer Fundraising Organization, began in 2007. Nine women hit the Appalachian Trail to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer.

In the first 3 years of the hike, over $44,000 was raised, 100% of which benefitted the Susan G. Komen Maryland Affiliate .The hikes involved 3-4 days on the Appalachian Trail, hiking between 10 and 15 miles a day. In raising money to fight breast cancer, the hikers got much more than they bargained for-communing with nature, spectacular views, exercise and camaraderie, and a lifetime-friend-building experience! A thousand thanks to our sponsors, volunteers, hikers and donors for making the last three years so successful!

Due to life circumstances
and too many conflicts, there
will be a change in format
for the 2010 hike.

We will have a Team Hike for the Tatas at the Maryland Race for the Cure in Hunt Valley, MD on October 3 2010. This is a 5 K race which can be walked or run, making it accessible to almost anyone! Bring your families and friends out to experience this heart warming day! We can make this year just as rewarding! The efforts of the 2010 Hike for the Tatas will be dedicated to the memory of our dear friend, Jane Martin
